STAR provides critical
support
services to provides critical services to the people of
Anchorage, and surrounding communities.
All of this is done to support STAR's
mission of helping those who are hurting.
STAR
continues a legacy of assistance to victims not only in Anchorage
but in many other Alaska communities.
The
list of support services may not seem long, but there's quite a lot
that goes behind the scenes of the assistance we provide. One
example, is our 24-hour crisis line. This vital resource is
available to Anchorage and it's communities 24 hours a day, 7 days a
week, all year long.
The
level of services STAR provides is even more daunting because of the
high
statistics for
sexual assault in Alaska. It is heartbreaking, particularly
for the victims. This only underscores the need for the type
of assistance STAR provides to the community and the need for
financial support.
Soon,
we shall have brief (and anonymous) testimonials of those who have
been helped by STAR here on this page. Our help reaches out to
many lives directly and indirectly.
Many of STAR's critical services are
only made possible by donations. Your donation can make a
vital difference in a victim's life. We welcome all donations;
everything helps.

There
are several ways a person can give:

annual Combined Federal Campaign.

encourage people to consider our
Volunteer
Programs. While not a direct financial donation,
volunteers help reduce our overhead costs (in fact, this web
site is a product of our volunteer program that has saved us
paying web-design fees to a contractor).
